:: Vacant Residences

Vacant residences are completely empty and are rented out as an entire unit. Usually, people interested in this type of rental would expect to live alone or have people who are renting with them.

Studio Also called an efficiency, studios are usually one room with a kitchenette, bathroom, and a living room/bedroom area.

Townhouse Single family semi-detached house, connected to other similar units in a development, privately owned. Sometimes used interchangeably with "condo".

:: Rooms

Rooms are empty rooms in a house, apartment, condo, or townhouse where other people already live. This selection indicates an interest in filling an empty space within a current living arrangement. Sometimes the entire rental is shared – this means the person has his or her own room, but shares the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and other common areas. However, this is not always the case – people may have their own bathrooms or common areas at times.

Types of Rooms

Bedroom for 1 Person Bedroom for one person in an apartment or house shared with others. This is also referred to as a "Single".
1 Bedroom for 2 People Large bedroom for two people in an apartment or house shared with others. This is also referred to as a "Double".
Space for 1 in room for 2 Shared bedroom. One person occupies the bedroom and is seeking a second person to share the same room. This is also referred to as a "Space in a Double".
Room for Work Bedroom for one person with no rent or reduced rent in return for work like childcare, lawn care, pet care, or cooking. Sometimes includes free meals, a wage, or other perks.
